Holding out on downloading Siren: Blood Curse in hopes of a Blu-ray release? If you are in the US, don’t bother. Sony has spoken to MTV Multiplayer, reiterating that there are no plans for a North American release on of Siren in disc form “at this time.” The Sony representative reminds us that “you are able to delete and then re-download episodes since the purchase is linked to your PSN account. The developers kept this functionality in mind knowing that the episodes were fairly beefy.”
MTV speculates that Sony may simply be testing the waters in terms of Siren’s sales before releasing a retail version. Either way, if you really want the game on Blu-ray, you can always just import it from Europe.

We’re only at the nano scale folks so you’ll have to keep those high school fantasies of an invisibility-cloaked romp through the girls’ locker room tucked away for now. Still, two teams of US government funded researchers under the direction of Xian Zhanga at UC Berkeley say that they’ve developed a material which can bend visible light around 3-D objects, effectively making them disappear.
While similar to the negative refractive properties of materials developed back in 2006, UCB’s so-called meta-material is easier to work with and absorbs far less light than those earlier products. As such, the material could scale to the size of invisibility cloaks to hide objects such as tanks or mischievous boy-wizards. However, that day is a long ways off.
In the short term, the meta-material will most likely find use in the far less interesting (to consumers, anyway) application of building better microscopes. Hey, Xian, picture of your invisible material or it didn’t happen… oh, wait.

From bits of Babel to new nightmares on Elm Street:
- While it might have seemed like Rinko Kikuchi dropped off the cinematic circuit after making waves with Babel, the young actress has kept busy and will soon be seen in the likes of The Brothers Bloom and Shanghai. But that’s not all: The Hollywood Reporter posts that she’s in talks for Isabel Coixet’s next film, Map of the Sounds of Tokyo. A tale of dual identities, the film is said to focus on a fish-market worker who is also a contract killer. It’s not clear whether she is that worker, or will have another part in the film. Whatever the case, it’ll be nice to see Rinko in something new.
- In a completely different vein, there’s a new rumor on Elm Street. Forget Smallville stars — according to Ace Showbiz, the reigning nightmare king Robert Englund was on Loveline recently, and mentioned the new movie. He said he’s heard talks about Billy Bob Thornton taking on the role. I must say — that’s completely out of left field, but I’m not hating the idea. How about you? Could Billy Bob be a good fit for the striped sweater?

Wtf kind of cover is that?
Miley Cyrus blabbed to Seventeen Magazine about her relationship with Nick Jonas. Okay kiddo- we know you screwed him, we know he left you and yet we STILL have no sympathy for you. So why try?
“We became boyfriend and girlfriend the day we met. He was on a quest to meet me, and he was like, ‘I think you’re beautiful and I really like you.’ And I was like, ‘Oh, my gosh, I like you so much.’”
I doubt that’s how it happened. What type of bullshit is that? Nick Jonas probably didn’t try to search for you like you were treasure. He probably felt sorry for your chipmunk self. I bet Miley’s Dad paid Nick to date her.
“Nick and I loved each other. We still do, but we were in love with each other. For two years he was basically my 24/7. But it was really hard to keep it from people. We were arguing a lot, and it really wasn’t fun.”
Nick didn’t love you. You were just a stepping stone for the Jonas Brother’s to reach to fame. Weren’t you 13? What the f*** do you know about love?
On breaking up-
“At first I bawled for a month straight. I was so sad. I just went into this weird funk. And I dyed my hair black. When we were dating, Nick wanted me to get highlights – and so I did that, and I got myself looking great. And then, on the day we broke up, I was like, I want to make my hair black now – I don’t want to look pretty; I want to look hard-core. I was rebelling against everything Nick wanted me to be. And then I was like, I’ve got to be by myself for now, and just figure out who I really am.”
You dyed your hair black because you wanted to be like Selena ,you whore. And then you realized- you looked like a walking corpse. So here’s some advice from me to Miley. Get over yourself and stop thinking about Nick. He’s def. not thinking about your ass at the end of the day.
He’s tappin’ Selena’s!
By the way Seventeen Magazine, it seems like these days you’re putting whores on the cover. I thought your magazine was there to help young girls make good decisions. Miley Cyrus has made numerous choices that have left her fans unhappy. Next time, it would be wise to pick out a girl who could be looked up to rather than frowned upon.

Tyra Banks would reportedly love ”nothing more” than to live in the White House.
The “America’s Next Top Model” presenter - who dressed as Michelle Obama, wife of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, for a photo shoot in Harper’s Bazaar magazine recently - is said to dream of being the First Lady of the United States.
A friend told gossip website MSNBC: “I think she actually could see herself in the White House. No, not as President, but First Lady? She’d love nothing more.”
In the accompanying interview in Harper’s Bazaar, Tyra insisted Michelle Obama’s role in the White House is as important as her husband’s.
She said: “With Barack Obama, his becoming president is them becoming president because Michelle was there from the beginning.”
“Without Michelle, he wouldn’t be there - Michelle Obama, you’re one hot mama!”
Tyra is not the only celebrity who has expressed a desire to live in the US President’s official residence.
Paris Hilton recently revealed she wants to move into the house and “paint it pink” in a spoof video as a response to Republican candidate John McCain’s anti-Obama video which featured footage of the hotel heiress used without her permission.

Catherine Zeta-Jones wants to talk to dead people. The “Mask of Zorro” actress says she was thrilled when a psychic was brought in to rehearsals on her new movie “Death Defying Acts” because she wishes she could speak to some of her relatives who have passed away.
Catherine said: “I was fascinated by the psychic. I wanted to know what it felt like when you’re channeling or doing whatever it takes to get to that state of mind, so he changed my perspective on it.”
“I would love to be able to contact people on the other side. If I could speak to my grandmother tonight, I’d be doing it. So I do believe.”
“Death Defying Acts,” a biopic of illusionist Harry Houdini, has flopped at the US box office, taking just $3,560 in its only weekend of showing.
However, Catherine, 38, insists she isn’t worried about it damaging her career.
She added: “I haven’t actually reached my sexiest point yet. I’m not going to be playing a 19-year-old but I’m not going to be playing old grannies any time soon.”

Today was another very volatile day with stocks posting triple-digit DJIA losses. Shares opened and traded lower, then recovered sharply before falling back down at the end of the day. Oil and commodities rose. Oil was up over $3.00 to over the $116 a barrel mark on soft inventory levels and reports Russia is seizing a Georgian pipeline. With gold rising almost $17.00 and the dollar falling, it almost felt like the commodity trades were coming back on. There was a drop in import prices, but that wasn’t enough to keep the bears from roaring today.
Here are Wednesday’s unofficial closing bell numbers:
DJIA 11,536.22 (-106.25) S&P500 1,288.87 (-3.72) NASDAQ 2,428.62 (-1.99) 10YR T-Bond 3.947% (+0.029%) 52-WEEK LOWS ANALYSTS UPGRADES & DOWNGRADES
Google Inc. (NASDAQ: GOOG) saw shares down marginally today as the stock was down 0.8% at $498.53 in the final minutes before the close. Jim Cramer interviewed Google’s CEO & Chairman on CNBC today and he brought back that $750 Target.
General Motors Corp. (NYSE: GM) took a beating on another Moody’s debt downgrade. While everyone should have known this data, shares were down almost 8% at $10.22 in the final minutes ahead of today’s closing bell.
Genentech (NYSE: DNA) was up a little more than 0.5% at $98.43 in the final minutes after it rejected Roche’s $89.00 cash bid and offered Roche to choke up more cash.
NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ: NVDA) managed to escape the hangman after reporting disappointing earnings, recording a loss due to a $196 million charge to cover its technical issues in graphics processors. But a $1 billion share buyback plan compared to its market cap of $6 billion saved the day. This was a key trading alert stock today and shares were up over 10% at $12.24 in the final minutes.

Ladies, get ready for Jake “Prince of Persia” Gyllenhaal! Just Jared has nailed the first set photos from the highly-anticipated Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, based on the popular video game in which a Prince does … stuff … God does he look hot, or what!? Okay, for realz now — Jake plays a young Prince named Dastan who must team with a feisty and exotic Princess (Gemma Arterton) and stop an evil ruler from destroying the world. Something tells me this is one film where looks will definitely kill. Check out two more photos below, then the rest over at Just Jared. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time will hit theaters on May 28, 2010.
And speaking of guys who look good with their shirt off and shoot movies based on video games, 20th Century Fox has put out a few new promotional pics from Max Payne, starring Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis. In the film, based on yet another popular video game, Wahlberg stars as a guy whose family was killed and, well, he’s out to kick some ass. Kunis plays a hottie assassin out to avenge the death of her sister. Together, these two are the kind of nuts you wouldn’t want to meet in a dark alley — but you’d definitely want to meet in a darkened movie theater. Max Payne hits theaters on October 17. Check out the new pics below.
