There seems to be an inordinate amount of lawsuits involving The Price Is Right: sexual harassment, wrongful termination, etc. Now one of those lawsuits is going forward but with one key member no longer involved.
A judge in Los Angeles has dismissed allegations against Bob Barker in the lawsuit involving a former production assistant who says she was demoted because she testified in one of the other cases. The reason for the dismissal? Barker wasn’t her boss. The judge also dismissed claims that the woman made against Fremantle Media, but those could be reinstated later if the judge is convinced by her attorney that they should be.

Holy halfbreeds.
I just finished Stephenie Meyer’s Breaking Dawn. I think I’m going to go cry now. If you haven’t read the books from the Twilight saga, now would be a good time to jump off a cliff or pick up the books.
I don’t care how you feel about vampires or mythological creatures: this book is for everyone. It’s not as ornamented as the Harry Potter series, but it’s def. a little more realistic. Not only that, it’s much more passionate. Anyone could relate to at least one of the characters.
The book was incredible. It surpassed all my expectations and it felt like an emotional rollercoaster. I don’t know what ending could have topped it. It was everything I dreamed of and more . I recommend this book to anyone who wants to enter a world of risk, danger, and passion.
If you need a mini vacation from your life, read this series. You’ll absolutely be craving for more books like this one.

Lindsay Lohan and girlfriend Samantha Ronson are reportedly set to marry. The “Mean Girls” actress – who only recently confirmed she was in a same-sex relationship with DJ Samantha – is planning to exchange vows with her lover at a private ceremony in Los Angeles later this year, and her mother Dina has already started planning a lavish party.
A source said: “They’ve been keeping the relationship quiet for months and trying to pass each other off as ‘just good friends.’”
“But they’ve decided it isn’t a fling, it’s for life - so they want to make their romance public. Dina is still working on the date of the party but it’s looking like towards the end of the year.”
It is believed the nuptials could take place in November around the same time Lindsay releases her new album “Spirit In The Dark.”
The 22-year-old star has already bought a white Chanel mini-dress for the ceremony, while Samantha – the sister of super-producer Mark Ronson - is toying with the idea of wearing a black suit and top hat.
Friends and relatives will attend the special day, with Dina determined to make the event the perfect way to “welcome Sam into the family.”
Meanwhile, Lindsay blasted a Los Angeles police chief who joked she had “gone gay” last week.
She said: “Police chiefs shouldn’t get involved in everyone else’s business when it comes to their personal life. It’s inappropriate.”
Chief William Bratton made the remark as he explained why he did not support new rules to curb paparazzi in Los Angeles.
He said: “If you notice, since Britney started wearing clothes and behaving, Paris is out of town not bothering anybody - thank God - and evidently, Lindsay Lohan has gone gay, we don’t seem to have much of an issue.”

BroadQ LLC has released a new software application known as Qtv, allowing the humble PS2 to play video content on the Internet. The Qtv software was developed with very strong inspiration from its predecessor known as QCast for the PlayStation 2 way back in 2002. It is able to process up to 720p resolution videos while supporting commonly used video codecs of today such as MPEG2, FLV (Flash Video), H.264 and DivX. It will utilize a server run by BroadQ, downloading and constructing the relevant metadata via online video distribution services. Qtv is highly customizable, enabling users to program keywords connected to their favorite videos. You will be able to purchase Qtv for $49.95 sometime this fall.

Hey, when did the LA Times become the new Cinematical (ahem … and ahem)?
We’ve got such craziness this week with two big summer films landing in theaters on Wednesday instead of Friday. No, you don’t have some fancy holiday weekend coming up (sorry cubicle dude), but the Olympics do begin later this week, and, well, some of us really want to get our Women’s Swimming 100m Butterfly on. That said, those mid-weekers have a choice between the weed action/comedy Pineapple Express and the sober adventure/comedy/romance/jeans-wearing sequel The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2.
I imagine each film has a completely different audience, with one attracting stoners, fans of Judd Apatow-produced content, comedy nuts and the Girls Obsessed with Seth Rogen Association of America (or GOWSRAA), while the other looks to bring in pre-teen and teenage girls (and their parents) who like to watch other girls come of age and explore the rest of their lives … or something like that. Word has it each flick is worthy of your nine bucks (I’ve seen Pineapple and can vouch for its coolness), so it’s really about which movie fits your cinematic tastes.
So, what are you watching: Pineapple Express or The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2?

Nintendo may not have been totally forthcoming with third-party devs about its MotionPlus add-on, but no secrets (okay, maybe a few) were withheld from AiLive. As it turns out, said outfit actually collaborated with Nintendo in order to create the MotionPlus hardware, and it’s extra kindly offering up LiveMove 2 “to help game developers take full advantage of its capabilities.” According to the company, LiveMove 2 can slash up to half a year off of the time required to tie basic functionality of the device into a game, though we’re obviously in no position to confirm / deny. For the small minority that cares more about how MotionPlus works rather than just accepting the fact that it does, check out the read link for a few geektastic vids.

In further evidence of our rapidly eroding civil liberties, the Department of Homeland Security disclosed today that US Customs and Border Protection and US Immigration and Customs Enforcement have the right to confiscate and search a traveler’s laptop or other electronic device without any suspicion of wrongdoing. The rules — which we reported on in February — allow for searches of hard drives, flash drives, cellphones, iPods, pagers, and video or audio tapes, and specify that the agencies can “detain” belongings for a “reasonable period of time,” (i.e., as long as they please). Additionally, the DHS can share the data found with other government agencies or private entities for translation, decryption, or (astoundingly vague) “other reasons.” The DHS says the policies apply to anyone entering the country — including US citizens — and claim the measures are necessary to prevent terrorism. In other news, Big Brother issued a statement today guaranteeing a bonus for turning over family members suspected of crimethink to the Thought Police.

While it was rumored Ubisoft and Jade Raymond would reveal their new title, I Am Alive, at E3, it turned out they did no such thing. Now CVG got word that they have no plans to reveal the title at Leipzig, either. There’s no reason behind the decision, so it’s most likely too early in development to show anything substantial. If that’s true, then we probably won’t see it at the Tokyo Game Show, but we ought to hear something before the end of the year. This is shaping up to be a holiday ‘09 release!
