The Amazon Kindle could potentially sell even more in the near future if other universities pick up the idea of introducing college textbooks on the device. In fact, Princeton University Press will begin to publish Kindle-edition textbooks this fall, taking baby steps in the world of e-textbooks. The book in question is Robert Shiller’s economics themed “The Subprime Solution”. I would love to see this idea take off as it reduces the burden of the college/university student - have you ever wondered just how heavy textbooks are? Still, there is something about traditional tomes that are appealing, including the ability to draw images on each top corner of the page for you to conjure your own stop-motion cartoons.
