The most hardcore MGS4 players are going to go for the Big Boss achievement trophy emblem, which requires masterful play with no deaths, no alerts, no kills, no recovery items, no stealth suit and no special items. To get the emblem, the entire game must be completed in 5 hours, but Tyndis from YouTube has managed to do it in less than three hours.

Obviously, because the entire game can be seen in these videos, it should be obviously that this is one giant spoiler. If you haven’t beaten the game yet, come back to watch it later. But for those that want to see Metal Gear greatness, enjoy.

From parents to friends to struggling lovers, here’s the latest casting news, courtesy of Variety:

First up is one of the Desperate HousewivesMarcia Cross. While her other co-stars have been dipping their toes into the cinematic waters, Cross has only spent her time on the boob tube, until now; she’s starring in a new indie comedy called Peck. In yet another Hollywood science fair story, there’s a kid named Peck (Keir Gilchrist) whose parents (Cross and Adam Arkin) force him to compete in a science fair (according to IMDb). There also seems to be some romance to the story, as Variety says that the kid “develops an unlikely friendship with the school’s golden girl.”

There has been an overwhelming response to AOL’s round up of America’s Most Hated Foods. I mean, people are vomiting through their computers and damning foods to illegality (poor cooked carrots). I’ve gotta admit, I don’t have any aversions that strong. Sure, I have foods I dislike (I’m lookin at you, Mr. Sun-Dried Tomato), but nothing that is going to make me weep into my dinner plate.

That said, I do have a pretty serious issue with seasonal food hatred. Certain foods that I enthusiastically eat all winter long just cannot cross my plate during the summer.

  1. Mint-Chocolate. As stated in this M&M review, mint-chocolate means wintry warmth. Although there has been accusation that I got this association from Starbucks (damn you, Grande Soy Mint Mocha!), I maintain that this comes from Christmas’ candy cane cataclysm.
  2. Potato Soup. Obviously, it’s hot. But what’s worse, it’s dense, and starchy, and thick, and kinda fuzzy. These are not acceptable adjectives for summer outerwear, let alone my internal organs.
  3. Breakfast sausage. Now, I’m all about a sausage on a bun; toss on some spicy mustard and it’s a par-tay. But a girthy link of meat just sitting on my plate first thing in the morning, waiting for a greasy, snappy bite to set it free? Hell no.

The PS3 version of Trusty Bell (also known as Eternal Sonata in the States) is hitting Japan on September 18th, more than a year after its original release on Xbox 360. Sales of the 360 original were respectable, but it’s clear that the PS3 version will attract a largest audience, especially in the RPG-hungry Japanese territory.

To make up for the long delay, new content will be exclusive to the PS3 release. New event scenes, which flesh out the story, will be thrown on the Blu-ray disc. A new quest will be added, and unlike the original release of the game, there will be multiple endings. This new “director’s cut” should alleviate some of the biggest complaints about the original. Joystiq’s Alexander Sliwinski had this to say about the ending of the original Eternal Sonata: “It was like the team gave up, knew they still had to pack in a 40 hour experience and just rushed through the rest. And unless you’re a pretentious philosophy major, the ending makes no kinds of sense.”

While the PS3 version of Eternal Sonata is confirmed for release this year, the fate of a potential US release has been undetermined.

PS3 Set To Improve This Fall

The Sony PS3 will receive an improvement in the areas of size and price this fall, thanks to the inclusion of a smaller, cooler, cheaper, and more efficient processor thanks to the 65nm manufacturing process. While this 65nm process technology has already yielded the new and improved Cell processor as of last holiday, it will definitely be a step in the right direction as gamers won’t have to pay that little bit extra for their monthly power bills (in proportion to the number of gaming hours they put in).

Sony’s Kaz Hirai confirmed to reporters that 65nm Cell processors have been used in PS3s since the “last holiday season.” Launch PS3 systems used a more expensive, and more energy-hungry 90nm process. The graphics chip for the PS3, known as RSX, will also be getting an upgrade this Fall. The move to a 65nm process will once again lower manufactuering costs for the Japanese electronics giant, and will also make the system much more energy efficient.

Sony is focused on restore profitability to its games division, especially after it revealed the significant $3 billion loss it has incurred on the PS3 so far. Investors will undoubtedly cheer at this news.

Kaz Hirai took to a Tokyo stage today to give us a peek at the Playstation’s future, and he let slip a couple of interesting tidbits. First, Sony will be launching a new program called “Life with Playstation” that will give users real time news and weather, using a globe metaphor reminiscent of the Wii’s News Channel. Of course, since the PS3 has considerably more horsepower under the hood, the globe is a rendered weather satellite image showing cloud patterns, and it also supports geo-tagged photos and other content. Kaz also previewed the video-download service set to launch next month at E3, which will allow you to download or stream video to the PS3 and PSP. The store looks a lot like the current PlayStation Store, and it looks like HD rentals will run around $6 while SD purchases will clock in around $13 when it launches in the States this summer. We’ll learn a lot more at E3, presumably, but for now we’ll just settle for a decent screen shot of that globe interface.

Xbox 360 To Get Price Cut

That’s what leaked images of an upcoming Kmart sales ad shows anyway, come this July 6th. Will a $50 discount actually move your heart (and wallet) to pick up this relatively old console already, if you haven’t done so yet? I suppose it will introduce console gaming to a whole new generation, but I’m not too sure on the impact that it will make.
