First things first — Americans can keep dreaming on this one, as we’re looking at yet another curious creation that probably won’t wander far beyond the borders of South Korea. MyRacer’s MF101 handheld can certainly play nice with a few audio / video formats — AVI, MP3, WMA, WAV, JPEG and BMP, for starters — but the control pad flanking each side of the 2.4-inch 320 x 240 resolution display gives away its true calling. Reportedly, it sports a Flash-based interface that enables users to sort through titles on their SD card or the 1GB of internal memory, but details are fuzzy on what games it’ll actually play. Still, doesn’t seem like a half bad investment for ₩99,000 ($104) if you’re in the area.

David Tyree's miracle catchYesterday, Amani Toomer and Michael Strahan of the World Champion New York Giants (boy, it feels great to write that) stopped by The View to talk about fitness equipment. During the segment, Whoopi Goldberg, who is such a self-proclaimed Giants fan that she spoke during the team’s post-victory-parade ceremony at New York’s City Hall, asked Toomer about the miracle catch he made late in the game, where he pinned the football to his helmet before being tackled.

There was just one problem: Toomer didn’t make the catch. David Tyree did. Video is after the jump, thanks to our friends at BestWeekEver.tv

SNL logoWe told you recently about Saturday Night Live’s first new episode after the writers strike. The show will return this Saturday with host Tina Fey and musical guest Carrie Underwood. Now comes word that Maya Rudolph won’t be on the show this weekend.

Rudolph still doesn’t have a contract with the show. She almost left before this season started, but decided to come back. It now looks like that was only a temporary thing until they could get a contract hammered out. Producer Lorne Michaels says “I’m going to keep calling her until she changes her number,” so the show wants her back. For the time being, her slot will be filled with Upright Citizen’s Brigade troupe member Casey Wilson.

In other SNL news, the show will announce later this week who exactly is going to play Barack Obama in sketches. It won’t necessarily be someone who is in the current cast. Michaels is also looking outside the show for someone to play the Democratic Presidential candidate.

Last year we brought you the word when the Saturn Award nominations were announced, so it only makes sense that I’d do it again this year. I’m consistent that way. For those who are unfamiliar, The 34th Annual Saturn Awards are handed out by the “Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films, a non-profit organization devoted to honoring, recognizing and promoting genre entertainment.” Sounds good to me! Not that I agree with all of their “best of” picks, but I do love it when an organization takes genre flicks seriously. So let’s see what the Genre Academy liked the best…

Best Science Fiction Film

Cloverfield
Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer
I Am Legend
The Last Mimzy
Sunshine
Transformers

(OK, so they nominated Transformers for best science fiction film of the year; count how many additional nominations it received.)

Best Fantasy Film

Enchanted
The Golden Compass
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End
Spider-Man 3
Stardust

(Pretty loose interpretation of the word “fantasy,” if you ask me.)

Okay, so it’s not exactly a photo of Aaron Eckhart from the actual movie, but it is a blurry photo (click on the image for a larger version) of the new Two Face action figure recently showcased at a restricted press event during the New York Toy Fair.
