Smeg Home Garden

The Smeg Home Garden does away with the hassle associated with keeping plants in your home, since it boasts a glass and metal miniature greenhouse environment that requires virtually no maintenance at all. While your plants inside would probably fare much better inside than face the perils of outside, the Smeg Home Garden comes with three different micro-climate settings to choose from - humid, dry or temperate. Each purchase comes with a remote control and a keypad lock so that you and you alone have access to your greenery. If you think you don’t have any green thumbs, then give the Smeg Home Garden a shot and you might think otherwise.

Mpion MP3 Player Zaps Zits

This zit zapper does not only help to keep your face free from the pimple scourge, it also plays MP3 files as well. Tipping the scales at a mere 1.2 ounces, it holds a paltry 128MB of storage space which translates to roughly 20 minutes’ of music. That pretty much sucks, but at least it massages your mug and releases both positive and negatively charged ions to neutralize breakouts. All you need to do is flip the switch to Minus, hold it for five to 10 minutes while grooving to your favorite tunes, turn the switch to Positive and hold it for the same amount of time before you’re done. At $185 a pop, it is pretty pricey but I don’t think owning one gives you the license to gorge on deep fried and oily stuff.

Order Starbucks Via Apple

Folks who can’t get enough coffee from Starbucks will soon be able to order their favorite caffeinated beverage from the comfort of their iPhone and iPod touch without waiting in line, courtesy of a new Starbucks program that functions via WiFi at each Starbucks outlet. You’ll be able to bypass the cheery shoutouts from the barista as you choose your drink just like how you would do at an actual Starbucks cafe, save for the fact that you’d be relying on a whole lot of finger pointing instead. Skip those queues and reserve those seats before other iPod-less folk manage to even think of what they want to have for breakfast.

Kota Triceratops Dinosaur

Kora the Triceratops dinasour looks like the perfect Christmas present for your kid - never mind the Yuletide season is still a good 10 months away. Standing at more than 40″ tall, this interactive triceratops boasts movement sensors in nine areas on its body, making it capable of reacting to touch by moving its head, tail, mouth and horns. Heck, if your kid is small enough, he/she can even mount the Kota and move around the room with it. Pressing the button located on the riding handle will result in adventure-themed songs. I’d suggest getting a good set of rechargeable D batteries as it takes half a dozen of those puppies to power the $300 Kota.

Wal-Mart Drops HD DVD In June

Looks like Toshiba had better put HD DVD out of its misery with news trickling out that Wal-Mart will not restock its shelves with HD DVD players and movies by the time June rolls around, following similar decisions made by Netflix and Best Buy. It seems as though there is no way out of this dark pit for HD DVD - let us have a minute’s silence out of respect for this format.

Limited Edition Designer iPod touch

If you think the standard iPod touch isn’t a good enough present for the other half in your life, then this limited edition designer iPod touch could potentially change your mind. Selfridges is carrying this unique iPod line, featuring hundreds of black Swarovski crystals complete with a special diamond ring design encrusted with 24k gold coated and silver crystals. What a way to propose, eh? You could include her favorite songs into the playlist while you pop the question. Unfortunately, you will have to pay through your nose for this special edition iPod touch as it retails for £899 while the iPod nano is a wee bit cheaper for £749.

Samsung SGH-i780 Head For Europe

Looks like the Samsung SGH-i780 will be making its way to Europe sometime in the near future, running on Windows Mobile 6 Professional. Orange UK and Telefonica Movistar are so far two confirmed carriers for this Samsung smartphone, but the rest of the pack have yet to be disclosed by Samsung. Samsung did mention that shipments are for the open market, so it wouldn’t be too hard to pick up a localized i780 from a nearby cell phone retail store. Word on the street has it that the Samsung SGH-i780 will retail in the region of 549 Euros.

Vodafone Self-Help Service

While Vodafone claims that their new and advanced customer service available directly on the handset itself in real time is meant to provide users with a self care facility, I think otherwise. Chances are Vodafone is going to cut down on its support staff, hoping that this self-help service would be able to solve their support team from a whole lot of troubleshooting. Then again, I would think that clueless folks themselves might even find it difficult to navigate through such a self-help system, which is why they have customer service consultants in the first place. How effective do you think such a system will be?
