While everyone thought that the MacBook Air battery replacement process would be complicated, AppleInsider thinks otherwise. They claim that there is no need for special tools or knowledge if you want to swap out the MacBook Air’s battery. All you need to do is uncover the MacBook Air’s bottom cover, unscrew the battery from the chassis and unplug it from the circuit board with a tug. It is not soldered onto the board like many believed. From the sounds of it, it will probably take less than three minutes to perform this little operation. You could, of course, settle for Apple’s $129 MacBook Air Out-of-Warranty Battery Replacement Program that requires approximately 5 days to complete.

HP is not just interested in PCs, notebooks and servers, as they have just released the HP Bluetooth Laser Mouse that comes with a maximum sensitivity of 1,600dpi. That’s pretty high for everyday use as it makes it more suitable for gamers as well as those who deal with extremely precise mouse movements in their work, but for ordinary folks like you and I who spend most of the day reading blogs and other news sites, this $49 mouse would be overkill. Unless, of course, you want your HP computer to come with a matching-brand mouse. Features include an adjustable sensitivity, a scroll wheel, standby and sleep power saving modes.

Drinking water from the tap is probably pretty safe these days, but if you’re still paranoid then you’d best keep your fingers crossed that this concept from Samgmin Bae will enter production soon. Aptly dubbed BottomsUp, this portable water purifier is screwed on the top of most PET-type bottles that have been filled with tap water. Whatever you drink from the bottle will then be a whole lot better tasting. Hopefully that these will be washable in order to save our landfills from further burdens.

It sounds much better as the 5610 - which is what it is actually. This handset definitely usurps the 5310 XpressMusc cell phone, and more with its list of specifications.

We don’t know why we’re feeling especially green this weekend, but we were tickled when we came across news that Safeway, the nation’s third-largest grocer, announced that it will convert its entire fleet of trucks to run on biodiesel. This will reduce Safeway’s carbon emissions by 75 millions pounds each year.
The move is just another step in the grocery chain’s full-scale initiative that executives call their “green energy tree.” The program includes recycling, energy efficiency, and using sustainable sources of fuel like solar power in stores and now, biodiesel based on soy in their 1,000 trucks.

Here’s a cocktail that is actually good for you. Chock full of anti-oxidants from the Sence rose nectar, cranberry juice, and pomegranate juice. Recipe courtesy of CocktailAtlas.com.
Rosy Pom
The Rosy Pom was crated for the Erotic Café inside the ZUMANITY Theatre at New York-New York in Las Vegas. Zumanity is a provocative cabaret-style production with a Cirque du Soleil twist. This playful cocktail, made with SEX Vodka and rose nectar, is the perfect drink to get you in the mood for a sexy show.
1.5oz Sex Vodka .5oz Sence Rose Nectar .5oz Cointreau 1oz Cranberry Juice Splash of POM pomegranate juice
Combine ingredients with ice. Shake and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a rose petal.

Sence Rare European Rose Nectar is a interesting and unusual new drink made from the centuries old strain of Kazanlak roses grown in Bulgaria. The Kazanlak rose is known for its high levels of anti-oxidants and has been used in gourmet food for ages. This rose originated in Egypt and Syria and was brought to Bulgaria in the year 1256.
In making this drink the rose petals are harvested during a three week period in early summer during the hours of 3am to 10am when the dew levels are highest. This leads to a fresher and more floral nectar that is extracted from the flowers. Then the petals have to be processed within two hours of the harvest. For thousands of years this nectar was then added to crisp and clear spring water to make a lovely, rose flavored drink or used in other food and fragrance products. Leonardo da Vinci drank rose nectar regularly both hot as a tea, and chilled.

This has to be some sort of cruel joke. Two horror movies released this week, but we don’t know which one is more scary.
On one hand you have a movie about people getting horribly mutilated in various ways and one where The Rock is a star football player with a great single life until one day, his bastard daughter shows up on his front doorstep. Either way, we’re pretty sure both movies will be tough to watch for far different reasons.
Perhaps we’re being a bit too tough on our good friend Dwayne Johnson. Nevertheless, perhaps he should stick with movies where he can bust in a room, say a couple bad-ass one liners and then proceed to beat the crap outta people with a variety of objects.

We all knew Tom Cruise was a little loony with all this Scientology stuff, but we don’t think anyone knew just quite how crazy he’d become until a leaked video featuring Cruise explaining the awe-inspiring power only Scientologists possess.
However, some people don’t know that a new religion has sprung up in the wake of the Scientology controversy - PS3ology. Taking a page out of Cruise’s book is DJWheat from Epileptic Gaming. Many of you may sit there with a confused expression on your face, but make sure you watch the Cruise video first, because only then will you really appreciate the great parody.
Just remember, it’s a privilege to call yourself a PS3ologist.

The Poll Police ranted about a hot story this past week. GameTrailers, a site who we have nothing against as a site or as people, were getting slammed by internet-savvy folk for using some questionable methods in their comparison videos in regards to PS3 and Xbox 360 titles. While it’s all subjective (the only true method of fair comparison is to rig both titles up to your television and see which one works better for your particular need), it raised quite a bit of flame. So, the Poll Police ask you: are these comparison videos necessary, or do they only serve as gasoline for the fanboy fire?
| Are comparison videos really necessary? |
|
Yeah, they sway my purchasing decisions. |
|
Yeah, they’re objective and insightful. |
|
Nope, they’re not that helpful. |
|
They serve only to fan the console war flames. |

We shouldn’t throw our two cents around lightly because one writer’s opinion might not reflect another and we’d hate to skew our views as a website. As we said, the best method is to do a comparison yourself on your own television — but that’s usually a pain in the ol’ behind. Last week’s poll? Sure, it’s after the jump. Check out the results. The game is Resistance 2. It’s not called Rise to Man. Not officially, not yet. So until we hear otherwise, let’s stop calling it that. Even though it makes sense. Most of you thought the game looked at least pretty cool. The majority of you agreed the title really seems like a game of the year contender. It’s going up against some pretty AAA titles, though. We personally don’t think they’ll hit the ‘08 release mark, but Insomniac has put out a game every year, so who knows.
