Well, well, would you look at that, Lenovo’s i909 gaming phone. Oh the specs are ok — 2 megapixel camera, microSD, and 2.4-inch, 262k color, QVGA display on a 15.5-mm candybar — but it’s the on-board NES emulator and snap-on D-pad which has our attention. Sure, we’ve seen these mashups before, but they never do get old, eh Game King? China only, for now.

Cell Phone Blamed for Train DeathA man in Berkeley, California was struck and killed yesterday while crossing the train tracks on foot. Witnesses say that he was distracted by talking on his cell phone, resulting in the accident. The man stood by the side of two sets of the tracks waiting for one train to cross, then immediately stepped out onto the tracks and was struck by a second train passing in the opposite direction.

This sounds disturbingly similar to an incident in Ohio we reported about in August. There, a teen was texting on his cell phone and did the same thing, crossed the tracks behind one train only to step in front of the second. He survived, his injuries far less severe than those apparently suffered by the Berkeley man.

If you’re crossing the train tracks, we think it might be a good idea to put down the cell phone, pause that iPod and take your ear-buds out, and close the lid on your Nintendo DS before you take the risk of becoming the next to be featured in a post like this.

bowl of mashed potatoesIf you are totally flummoxed as to what side dishes to serve at your Thanksgiving meal this year, why not let the stars decide?

The folks over at AOL Horoscopes, with the help of astrologer Sabra Ricci, have put together a collection of side dishes and star sign pairings. For the Leos in your life, why not try Curried Creamed Onions or Spinach Salad with Oranges and Walnuts. Scorpios are partial to Pecan Stuffing and Fig-Walnut Salad and it’s Garlic Mashed Potatoes for your Aquarius friends and family.

Whether or not the predictions are right on or they totally miss the mark, many of the recipes sound tasty and worthy of a place on your table. Check out the full article to see what they recommend for you (as a Taurus, the suggested Candied Yams have me drooling and ready for Thanksgiving to arrive now)!

Duo Atom Elegantly Switches Between Two SIM Cards The Atom Duo is a simple and elegant phone with a particular talent: it can receive two SIM cards (and therefore handle two numbers). You can switch numbers back and forth by simply rotating the phone by 180 degrees – it can’t get simpler than that.

When you reverse the phone’s orientation, the virtual keypad and display will switch position and you will instantly be dialing from your other cellphone number. This is an ideal companion for people who frequently travel between two countries. Quick specs in the fult post.

Well, now that James Wong’s (Final Destination) manga film Dragon Ball [Z] has a location — Mexico — it’s time to hear about the cast, and I have to say, at least one of these guys was someone I wasn’t expecting. Variety reports that Justin Chatwin, the annoying, headstrong son from War of the Worlds and James Marsters, the bleached, lovelorn bad boy from Buffy the Vampire Slayer have both joined the cast. Chatwin will star as Goku, “a powerful warrior who protects Earth from an endless stream of rogues bent on dominating the universe and controlling the mystical objects from which the film takes its name.” He must have learned a lot when he ran into alien combat without a gun.

The thorn in his side, his foil, his enemy, will be played by Marsters, who is taking on the role of the film’s villain, Piccolo. He is pure, concentrated evil who came from another being that split himself to rid himself of said evil. I don’t think there’ll be any sex or souls for Marsters in this job. So they’ll go south of the border to start filming this later in the month, and Fox is hoping to unleash Dragon Ball in theaters on August 15. In the meantime, Chatwin is training for his stunts. I’m not manga fan, so this is where you guys come in — are Chatwin and Marsters good fits for the roles? And if not, who should have been cast?

If you’re cool with a circular gizmo flanking one of your ears, Callpod’s Bluetooth earpiece is probably right down your alley. Aside from rocking a dual-microphone design, noise cancellation technology and multi-device pairing support, this headset promises to stay connected even if you stray 100-meters (give or take) from your mobile / computer. Additionally, you can count on 8-hours of talk time (300-hours in standby) to handle those all-night sobfests, and it’s even firmware upgradable should the future hold some extras not yet available. If you’re all ready to sign up, hit the read link and throw down your $119.95 — Callpod says they’ll be shipping soon.
