Game Republic’s upcoming PSN game, Toy Home, is coming soon to the US PlayStation Store. The game, which is already available in Japan, focuses on physics-based driving. Overall, it looks a bit underwhelming, especially graphically. However, there’s potential for zany fun, provided the controls feel good. Catch another video, after the cut.

All new VW concept

This Volkswagen concept is surely too far ahead in the future - it boasts just three seats and an aerodynamic body that is guaranteed to turn heads, although setting your pulse racing is another matter. The most interesting aspect would be its detachable trunk that can be wheeled away as a suitcase - great for those who love traveling. The transparent surface wrapping the entire exterior of the car is actually an OLED display that acts as an information screen for the driver as well as passengers within - hopefully it won’t distract the driver from his/her more immediate task of, well, driving.

Amitabh Bacchan and ShahRukh Khan are not on good terms with each other. The Big B of Bollywood is angry with King Khan for some unknown reason. The two of them don’t seem to be very happy on meeting each other, it looks like more of a cold war between the two. Recently at the […]

MySpace is a minefield. Time magazine even put the social-networking site on its list of ‘Five Web Sites to Avoid.’ Even we here at Switched have posted endless coverage of the sexual predators, spammers, and hackers that have made the MySpace risky at times for anybody not browsing with a sandboxed Firefox browser.

Now, the hackers have managed to expand their attacks beyond the usual faux profiles or hijacks of your friends pages. They’re starting to hit the MySpace pages of celeb musicians such as Alicia Keys.

The hack is actually quite sophisticated and involves multiple avenues of infection. Just visiting Keys’ page prompts spyware to attempt to install itself on your PC.

If that fails, the page will then ask you to install a codec to allow you to view a video. The codec is fake and if you accept the installation, you will get instant spyware infection! If that fails, the entire background image of the page is a link. Miss any of the legitimate links on the page and you’ll be taken to a Web site registered by a Chinese company Xiamen Hua Shang Sheng Shi Network Co. Ltd. That Web site also tries to install malicious code on your computer.

It’s a big mess!

Security experts at Exploit Prevention Labs, a company that tracks pages containing malicious code, spotted the hack when Keys’ s MySpace page was flagged by users of the company’s LinkScanner system.

Keys’s page has been confirmed as being cleaned by MySpace and LinkScanner.com, but all that could change in a matter of days.

From the vault of rumours that won’t die (no, not that one - that one is hopefully dead forever) comes, once again, the rumour of Bioshock coming to the PS3 sometime in 2008. While this was buried a few months ago the latest issue of EGM - and, in it, the newest Quartermann rumour predictions - has dug it back up and plans to rehabilitate it into mainstream debate.

We’re not biting, however. There’s no new evidence other than Mr. Quartermann’s statement. We’d be happy to see it, but until we see some sort of proof we’re firmly labeling this as the rumour it is.

One KITT driver has been named in this dueling Knight Rider kerfuffle. If you remember from last month, as series creator Glen A. Larsen has been slowly forming a feature film based on the series, NBC decided to zip in and create a 2-hour movie/back-door pilot to steal the spotlight. Now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, it’s one step closer to being the first one out there — taking a cue, it seems, from David Hasselhoff’s previous hunt for Michael Knight’s son. NBC has picked soap star Justin Bruening to star as Knight’s offspring.

Just like The Hoff years before, who joined the classic show after a stint on The Young and the Restless, Bruening will make the jump into KITT from soap operas — for the last four years, he’s played Jamie Martin on All My Children. Personally, I’m more interested to see if he follows Hasselhoff’s path and dips into bikini babe television and international singing superstardom after the role, rather than what he does with this questionable project. With a star in place, the network, so far, is beating Larsen’s movie project to the punch. So, onto the questions. Can this actor pull it off and draw KITT fans in? Will this steal the thunder and end/hurt the film? Do you care? When did Knight Rider become such tasty subject matter that people would battle each other for it?

We knew NXP and T3G were working on an automatic handover between TD-SCDMA and GSM, and now both firms are buddying up with Samsung to gloat about the unveiling of the “world’s first” TD-SCDMA HSDPA / GSM multi-mode handset. The celebrated mobile is being dubbed the Samsung SGH-T578H, which is equipped with a software-defined modem capable of achieving data transfer rates of 2.8Mbps. TD-SCDMA network deployments have already been completed in ten major cities in China, and it should be upgraded to support Release 5 (HSDPA) of the TD-SCDMA standard in time for users to enjoy streaming content from the Beijing Olympics. Regrettably, there’s no mention as to when the aforementioned mobile will be released, but we’re sure this trio won’t let it go unnoticed should that day come.
